Briefly: Markzware's InDesign search tool, Later for iOS

updated 12:12 pm EST, Wed February 12, 2014

PageZephyr Search Mac released, a search tool for Adobe InDesign

Software developer Markzware has released its content search tool, PageZephyr Search Mac. Allowing users to search InDesign files for specific text content, PageZephyr Search Mac can index content easily within Macintosh storage volumes that have Spotlight enabled. The search tool software supports InDesign CS through InDesign CC native files, and allows for the copying of text out of an InDesign file without having InDesign installed or running.

When a user right-clicks on a highlighted word and a compatible version of InDesign is installed, PageZephyr Search Mac opens the file in InDesign and takes the user to that word in the InDesign file. Requiring OS X 10.7 or later, PageZephyr Search Mac can be purchased on a "perpetual license" model at $50.

Later for iOS sends texts, tweets and e-mails at desired pre-determined time

A new productivity app for iOS called Later has been released, offering users notification reminders for sending a text, email or tweet at an appropriate time. Later allows users to select a recipient for their message, and set a time for the reminder to appear. When the set time arrives, a pre-addressed tweet, text message or email can be created to fill in and send. Later requires iOS 7.0 or later, and is available for free download through iTunes.

Later for iOS sounds interesting but there's no sign of it in the iTunes Store.

This is a great idea for those who much manage large sets of ID documents. If they're looking for new ideas, I'd suggest a replacement for ID's Search and Replace panel. Create one that separates dangerous commands, particularly Change All, from the more commonly used one. A search backwards would also be handy.
