Oyster adds children's section to its catalog

E-book subscription service, Oyster, has announced its launching of a new Children's genre, now live in its iOS app. Oyster offers access to unlimited e-books for a $10 monthly subscription. Including classic titles, the new children's catalog features award-winning stories and new releases. Oyster also announced its new agreement with Disney publishing, expanding children's content with Disney-branded characters. The Oyster app requires iOS 7 or later, and is compatible with iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Virgin America offers first in-flight social network chat feature via LinkedIn

Virgin America has announced its introduction of in-flight social networking, aimed at frequent flyer professionals. The airline will offer a seat-to-seat chat feature on digital screens on the backs of seats, and, teaming up with app maker Here on Biz, has developed a specialized in-flight social network platform which utilizes LinkedIn. The platform, according to ZDNet, is due to be released on all domestic Virgin America flights by the end of February. The Here on Biz app for iOS is currently available, and will be free between now and July through the Gogo network.
