Nokia has launched its Lumia Icon, a Windows Phone 8 device that is exclusive to Verizon. Surfacing in earlier rumors, the Lumia Icon takes most of the specifications of the Lumia 1520 and squeezes it down into a much smaller device, and is fronted by a 5-inch Full HD display with Nokia ClearBlack technology for viewing the screen in direct sunlight.

Inside is a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. Aside from using Verizon's LTE network, it offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC connectivity, and a 2,420mAh battery with wireless charging as standard provides power.

Just like the Lumia 1520, it uses a 20-megapixel PureView camera with Optical Image Stabilization, Zeiss optics, and the ability to record 1080p video, with the option to zoom into the screen using one finger instead of using a pinch-to-zoom motion. An array of four microphones is also employed, in an attempt to reduce background noise while recording stereo sound.

Verizon is making the Lumia Icon available from February 20 in-store and online, priced at $200 with a two-year contract, with customers also able to attain the smartphone through Verizon Edge as well.
