Next Samsung flagship could have flat iconography in user interface
Samsung has hinted at the TouchWiz interface included in its expected Galaxy S5 launch at Mobile World Congress this month. The company's Twitter feed has posted an invitation to the event's live stream, with a collection of nine icons on one side suggesting the latest incarnation of the TouchWiz UI will have a flatter aesthetic than it has previously used.
The nine icons include titles such as Speed, Outdoor, Social, Fitness, and Curiosity, which could point towards Samsung opting to make minor refinements to existing device elements, rather than adding larger, potentially unwanted features.
An earlier screenshot leak showed an updated layout to TouchWiz, with similar flat iconography appearing throughout the images. The leak also suggested Samsung would take after Google Now's card system by offering the user a collection of panels with various notifications or updates for sports and health, among others, shown.
