TrendNet announces the availability of two new HomePlug AV2 Powerline adapters

TrendNet has released two new HomePlug AV2 Powerline adapters, the TPL-408E2K (two adapters) and the TPL-408E (a single adapter), for creating a network using an existing electrical system. The new Powerline adapter is more powerful than its predecessor, with 500 Mbps networking speeds (PHY rate of 600 Mbps). Pre-encrypted, the TrendNet adapter does not require CD installation. Users can connect one adapter to a router and plug in another adapter on one's electrical system for instant Internet access.

The Powerline 500 AV2 Adapter Kit is priced at $90, and single adapters are available for $50 each.

Smartflight finder Hitlist for iOS and Android launched

Flight-tracking application Hitlist has been officially released for iOS and Android today, with its beta status having been lifted. Unlike traditional flight search sites, Hitlist allows users to be more flexible with travel dates. Users can register an intent to travel "at some point," and Hitlist aims to provide alerts for when the best time to go would be in terms of flight value. The app shows flight deals within the app as opposed to the previous email-only notification. Hitlist can be downloaded for free from iTunes and Google Play.
