Boost Mobile lowers LTE monthly charge to $35 in time-limited offer

Promotion cuts price of Boost Mobile payments for six months

Boost Mobile has launched a promotion which dramatically cuts the monthly cost for users of its 4G LTE-based unlimited talk, text, and data service for new users. Customers buying and activating an eligible device from a retailer or the carrier's website before March 31st will have their monthly cost reduced down from the regular $55 smartphone price to $35 per month for the first six months of their mobile service.

Though the price plan will revert back at the end of the six month period, customers will still not pay the full $55 charge. The lines will automatically qualify for the carrier's Shrinking Payments scheme, which reduces the plan cost by $5 for every six months of on-time payments, with a lower threshold of $40 per month.

Those looking to sign up for the Sprint-owned carrier's deal still need to watch out for a couple of parts of the offer. While unlimited data is promised, only 2.5GB per month will be through 4G LTE before it gets throttled, with video being transferred at the much slower 3G speeds. The selection of LTE-capable phones offered by Boost is also relatively limited, consisting of nine Android offerings, including the Samsung Galaxy S III and the LG Optimus F7, along with the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c for $550 and $450 respectively.
