Dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor touted in Nokia Android device

More details about Nokia's rumored "Normandy" Android smartphone have surfaced, along with images allegedly showing the final form of the device. Believed to be called the Nokia X, the device is said to have a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, expandable by microSD, all behind a 4-inch WVGA (480x800) display.

Details revealed on a Vietnamese retailer's website have apparently been confirmed by the @evleaks Twitter account, reports Phone Arena. It will apparently ship with a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, a 1,500mAh battery, and dual SIM card slots. Running on a forked version of Android 4.4, it will offer apps through Nokia's own app store, as well as third-party stores and Google Play.

The new photographs from show the Nokia X as having a physical design relatively similar to its Lumia smartphones. The bright orange casing appears to match another part of the specifications leak, in that it will be offered in a choice of six different colors.

It is probable that Nokia will launch the smartphone at Mobile World Congress in February, though it is also possible that Microsoft will pull the Android device before its launch if the acquisition of Nokia's device business completes before the event.
