Dark Sky update offers iOS 7 revamp, includes new global weather maps

'Hyperlocal' weather iOS app Dark Sky has released its latest update with a new iOS 7-inspired design and additional features. Dark Sky offers its users weather reporting up to an hour in advance, accompanied by a detailed, weather radar animation. Using GPS, Dark Sky is able to create forecasts based on one's precise location. Dark Sky v4.0 offers extended 24-hour and seven-day forecasts, and new global maps.

According to App Advice, its launch screen shows the current temperature and conditions, alongside a graph of precipitation within the upcoming 60 minutes. The update features a "feels like" temperature listing, a notification for whether conditions are becoming warmer or cooler, and how far away a storm is from one's current location. Its new global weather maps show weather patterns on a three-dimensional globe that includes precipitation and temperature layers. Available for $4 through the iTunes Store, Dark Sky now requires iOS 7.0 or later.
