Client tracker and billing management software TaskTime 4 released
TaskTime 4, a tracking and billing app, has had its latest update released this week. Able to track clients and projects that are under way, TaskTime 4 allows users to manage business transactions and facilitate creating invoices. Data can be stored and backed up within the program, and synced to iCal and DropBox. TaskTime 4's project manager can be used to add, delete, rename, merge and store projects, and its client manager offers the same for clients.
The most recent release of TaskTime 4 includes fixes for a missing invoice graphic, import session date errors, and other bugs. International currency has been added, as well as a preference option to turn off saving of window positions. Priced at $20, TaskTime 4 requires OS X 10.7 or later.
App.net launches new crowdfunding service Backer
Social platform App.net has announced its launch of a new crowdfunding service called Backer, allowing software creators to raise funds for future projects. Intended to facilitate a company's need to test what is desired by users in a hypothetical software feature, Backer provides the ability to pitch an idea to the public and ask for monetary commitment based on functionality, prior to development. This is based on App.net's perspective that this method is more effective than conducting a poll or other informal research, due to the high likelihood of a falsely positive result. Applications for crowdfunding on Backer are now open.
