Transloader 2.0 for iOS and Mac facilitates mobile downloading of .dmg and .zip files to iCloud
Eternal Storms Software today released Transloader for iOS and Mac in version 2.0. The app for iOS and Mac assists users in downloading URLs from an iOS device through iCloud to a Mac. On an iOS device, downloaded .dmg or .zip files are generally inaccessible or not usable. Transloader mitigates the need for copying and pasting a URL with a downloadable file to one's email to remember to download later on their Mac. The app facilities transferring the URL download via iCloud, then the Mac counterpart of the app will receive it and subsequently download the desired file to the Downloads folder. When the user returns to their Mac, the file is ready to use.
Transloader v2.0 features a new design for iOS 7 as well as its Mac app, can store URLs from the clipboard for later use, and offers better feedback to the iOS app on the progress of downloads on the Mac. Transloader 2.0 requires OS X Lion or later for use on a Mac, and iOS 7 or later for an iOS device. It also needs the same iCloud account on both the Mac and iOS device in order to link them. Transloader for Mac is $5, and its iOS counterpart is free.
Daemon Tools Lite for Mac 2.1 released, acts like an iSCSI Initiator
Image mounting software Daemon Tools has launched the updated version of its Daemon Tools Lite for Mac. Users can work with virtual images, and mount them in a wide variety of supported formats, such as .b5t, .b6t, .bwt, .ccd and more. The newest version adds an iSCSI Initiator feature, which facilitates accessing remote virtual or physical devices that are shared via iSCSI protocol. The shared data appears to the client computer as an image, and the initiator allows users to connect to the iSCI Target (a storage server) and work with remote devices easily. Available for $10, Daemon Tools Lite for Mac requires OS X 10.6 or later.
