Motion graphics theme FrostyGlass now available for Final Cut Pro X

Factory FX has released FrostyGlass, a set of eight fully-customizable plugins for Final Cut Pro X that aim to enhance a project by simulating glass distortions. Including a filter effect and a theme and title generator, FrostyGlass creates glass distortion on top of one's video project.

Users can select one or two glass panels, and customize them with the filter component. The theme generator includes several easy-to-use elements to create main title, lower thirds, bumpers and identifiers. A free trial of FrostyGlass is available for download from Factory FX, with its full plugin version priced at $50.

PDFpen 6.1.3 release, adding new redaction options, support for clickable telephone numbers

Smile has announced its release of PDFpen 6.1.3 today, an update to its all-purpose PDF edition tool for OS X. PDFpen allows users to add text, images and signatures to a PDF, as well as make corrections, and changes to text and image content. Newly featured in the update are new Redaction toolbar buttons, such as Block Selection and Erase Selection, which can be added as a customization. Support for clickable links from telephone numbers and creating telephone links is now included, as well as a change to the file save command, disallowing saving changes to a locked document. Various fixes and improvements are also a part of the update.

Requiring OS X 10.7 (Lion) or later, PDFpen 6.1.3 works with PDFpen for iPad and PDFpen for iPhone. Retailing at $60 for a single license of PDFpen, the Pro version is priced at $100. Family pack licenses are available, as well as Office Pack pricing. Upgrades from earlier version of either application are available for $30, and are free to users who purchased on or after October 15, 2012. Demo versions are available. As of writing, the update has yet to be reflected on the App Store.
