Briefly: GameEvil's Akasha MORPG, iTunes Radio Recorder for Android

updated 02:40 pm EST, Fri January 17, 2014

Akasha game launches on Google Play, with later release on App Store

Games publisher and developer GameEvil has announced its release of Akasha, its latest action MORPG. Featuring three retro classes -- Fighter, Archer and Mage -- players are able to experience dynamic action gameplay while enjoying the classic aesthetic of an MORPG. Its specialized dungeon play and skill upgrading system is customizable. Gamers who play prior to January 26, will receive a Beginner Support Pac and two limited-edition in-game crystals, offering passive stats and bonuses.

Now available for free download on Google Play for Android devices, its App Store counterpart is due to be launching in the next two weeks.

DoubleTwist's new AirPlay Recorder app released

DoubleTwist has introduced a new app that allows its Android users to save songs from iTunes that are streaming through iTunes Radio or locked to the app through DRM. After downloading the app, users can select it as an AirPlay device from iTunes on their Mac or PC, and then download songs and radio stations over a Wi-Fi connection.

Recording songs takes place in real-time, as it records while the audio plays. The copy of the audio will be saved to play from one's preferred music app on Android, with an in-app purchase option that will upgrade recordings to the higher-quality AAC VBR file type. It isn't clear whether DoubleTwist's AirPlay Recorder violates Apple's policies regarding its use of AirPlay. The app is free to download through Google Play, though may not be available for long.
