European Moto X launches 6 months after United States version

Motorola has launched the Moto X in Europe, at its launch event in London today. The flagship Motorola smartphone, originally launched in the United States in August, makes its way across the Atlantic to join the Moto G, though unlike the American version, the European model will not offer any Moto Maker customization options, instead offering just the standard black and white-backed models.

The specifications list remains the same as its US counterpart, in having a 4.7-inch 1280x720 display, a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and 2GB of RAM. In the back is a 10-megapixel camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing counterpart, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, and 4G connectivity, with the 16GB and 32GB models supplemented by 50GB of free Google Drive space for two years.

Shipping in February, the Moto X will start from £380 ($624) off-contract in the United Kingdom, or 429 euro ($586) in France and Germany. In comparison, the Moto X in the United States costs $399 unlocked. On-contract, the Moto X is expected to be a free device when partnered with a £25 ($41) price plan.
