Kobo redesigns book reading app for iOS 7

updated 09:58 am EST, Fri January 10, 2014

iPhone, iPad interfaces now consistent

E-reading company Kobo has launched a major redesign of Kobo Books for iOS, used to read books downloaded through the company's online store. Visually the app is now in line with iOS 7, with a "flatter" look, new fonts, and translucency effects. Kobo has also done work on the interface however, for instance overhauling the Library and adding a slide-out navigation menu.

It should now be easier to create and edit collections, and the menu system has been improved for night reading. Kobo says it has also worked to make navigation consistent between the iPhone and iPad interfaces. The app is a free download, but in its latest incarnation requires iOS 7 to run.
