New devices allows for higher sampling rates, easier configuration

Peripheral manufacturer Apogee Electronics has released the Jam 96k, a new professional guitar interface that lets users easily connect a guitar to an iPhone, iPad or Mac. Its circuitry is designed to reproduce the unique interaction between guitar and tube amp, resulting in an authentic tone and responsive feel with any guitar or music creation app. The company also brought out a revised Mic 96k, which does the same thing for vocal recording.

The new JAM 96k features tube amp tone emulation and a new nickel-plated finish. The new Mic 96k retains the same look and form factor of the original. Both units also provide the ability to make higher fidelity recordings up to 24-bit/96kHz and includes an iOS Lighting cable in the box. Like its predecessors, both the Jam and Mic 96k also include an iOS 30-pin cable and Mac USB cable, with the Mic also including a mic stand adapter and table-top tripod stand.

The Jam 96k retails for $129, while the Mic 96k sells for $229. Both are available now.
