Final Draft screenplay software sees update to version 9
This week saw the launch of the latest version of industry-standard screenplay software Final Draft, with more than 30 new and improved features for screenwriters. The refreshed writing software retains all of the development tools users of previous versions have come to expect, and it contains a number of tweaks and additions aimed at improving performance and ease of use. The software is available for both PC and Mac, and owners of previous versions will have special upgrade pricing options at their disposal.
Among the more than 30 new and improved features is a new Navigator aspect that offers story development tools for Scenes, ScriptNotes, and Characters. The update also bundles new watermarking capabilities, as well as an improved spell checker. For Mac users, the software is now Retina-compatible, and it supports both dictation and full-screen mode.
Marc Madnick, co-founder and president of Final Draft, Inc., said, "Final Draft 9 marks a leap forward in the family of Final Draft software. I'm positive our devoted customer base will be thrilled."
Final Draft, Inc., the company behind the screenwriting software, will be hosting Final Draft 9 demonstration seminars for members of the Writers Guild of America, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and other industry organizations in the coming months.
Final Draft 9 is available at an introductory sale price of $200 for new users at FinalDraft.com. Owners of previous versions can upgrade now for $80.
