updated 03:59 pm EST, Mon January 6, 2014

Ruggedized FinePix XP70, three bridge cameras due in March

Fujifilm has revealed four other cameras in the FinePix range, alongside the FinePix S1 announced earlier. The FinePix XP70 is a ruggedized camera for sports and other activities, the FinePix S9200 and S9400W are similar bridge cameras with a 50x optical zoom, and the FinePix S8600 is a more budget-friendly offering with a 36x optical zoom.

The XP70 is claimed to be able to withstand shocks from a height of 5 feet, waterproof to 33 feet, dustproof, and can survive temperatures as low as 14F. Inside is a 16.4-megapixel CMOS sensor with a 28mm wide-angle lens and 5x optical zoom. Optical image stabilization, an Action Camera mode, full HD video capture, a HDR mode, 10 filters, and a motion panorama are also included in the XP70, as well as a rear 2.7-inch display and connectivity to a smartphone or tablet over Wi-Fi.

The compact FinePix S8600 has a 16-megapixel CCD sensor behind its 36x optical zoom, offering an image sensitivity of up to ISO6400. Capable of recording 720p video, it offers optical image stabilization, face detection for up to ten subjects, a rear-mounted 3-inch LCD monitor, a mode dial, an 8fps burst mode, ten filters, and a mini HDMI output.

The FinePix S9400W and FinePix S9200 are identical cameras, offering a 16MP CMOS sensor with ISO sensitivity of 12,800. Using an F2.9-6.5 lens, the 50x optical zoom can be boosted to 100x using Fujifilm's Intelligent Digital Zoom, and can focus from 1cm away under its Super Macro mode. Both offer 10fps continuous shooting, an autofocus time of 0.3 seconds, full HD video, a rear 3-inch monitor, and similar shooting modes to the S8600. The S9400W adds in Wi-Fi connectivity with the Fujifilm's camera app for smartphones and tablets, which is said to allow for connections without requiring any authentication.

Has anyone been able to find the differences between the S1, S5200 and the S5400w?
