Wire removal from PowerMate part of dial redesign

Griffin has revealed an updated version of its PowerMate controller at CES, one that disposes of wires. The PowerMate Bluetooth is able to perform the same duties as the original accessory, except that there is now no longer a USB cable strung between the dial and the computer or notebook, and it has also received a striking remodeling from Griffin's design team.

Capable of being used as an extra dial for a variety of tasks, such as volume control or altering a setting in an application, the PowerMate Bluetooth can be configured using the company's PowerMate configuration app, with multiple PowerMate units able to be assigned to different individual tasks. Connecting over Bluetooth 4.0, it has a simplified dual-disc and brushed aluminum design, with its signature blue glowing base capable of acting as a notification, pulsing based on the user's configuration.

The PowerMate Bluetooth will be shipping this summer for $60.
