Asus confirms VivoTab Note 8 in manual leaked from own website

Name of Asus Windows 8.1 tablet confirmed in website error

Asus has accidentally confirmed the existence of the rumored VivoTab Note 8 tablet, by publishing its instruction manual. The PDF on the company's website, still accessible at the time of writing, confirms the tablet's name and Windows 8.1 as its operating system, as well as giving a general view of the front and back of the tablet, and basic operating instructions.

The leaked manual, spotted by Laptoping, stops short of providing a specifications list for the device, but does show it as having a stylus and dedicated storage slot. Front and rear cameras do make an appearance, though the report notes that the Windows button will be located on the side instead of the front panel, and that it also lacks any HDMI or other video output port.

An earlier image leak suggested the 8-inch tablet to have a quad-core 1.33GHz Intel Atom "Bay Trail" SoC, 2GB of RAM, options for 32 or 64GB of storage, a rear 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a 3,950mAh battery. Expected to launch sometime close to CES, it is thought to have a price tag of around $300.
