Briefly: Picasa for Mac adds Auto Backup, DraftCode for iPad update

updated 11:52 am EST, Mon December 30, 2013

Picasa for Mac now includes Google+ Auto Backup, separate from Google Drive

The latest version of Picasa for Mac (and Windows) now includes an installation of a separate utility called Google+ Auto Backup. Google+ Auto Backup is a simple tool that allows users to select the folders desired for automatic backup, and works in the background.

Already a feature for Android devices, Google+ Auto Backup for Mac comes exclusively with Picasa, though the feature functions as its own entity. The auto-backup utility automatically saves an unlimited amount of photos of up to 2048px resolution to a user's Google+ account. The Google+ Auto Backup app can be downloaded from Google with the latest version of Picasa.
