Tegra 4 tablet adds support for left-handed stylus use

Nvidia has released an update for the Tegra Note 7, introducing a number of improvements to the Tegra 4 tablet. The firmware update for all branded versions incorporates Android 4.3, the ability to transfer apps and data files from internal memory to a microSD card, and a number of other security and bug fixes, stylus, and camera changes.

The tablet now supports left-handed users with the stylus, according to a company blog post. A DirectStylus help option is available in the device settings menu is also joined by a notification for stylus removal and insertion in the notification bar, and the option to capture the notification bar with full-screen screenshots.

The built-in camera adds an always-on high dynamic range capability (AOHDR), which is said to provide "more lifelike images across a range of lighting conditions." AOHDR takes advantage of the Tegra 4 processor and Chimera computational photography architecture, something which is also put to work in the added video stabilization. The camera has also been tuned to work better in certain lighting conditions.

Shipped in November, the Nvidia Tegra Note 7 sports a Tegra 4 System-on-Chip, consisting of a 1.8GHz quad-core Cortex-A15 processor paired with a 72-core GPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 7-inch 1280x800 display, and a rear-facing 5-megapixel autofocus camera. The tablet is being sold under a number of different brands, including EVGA in the US, Advent, Gigabyte, Shenzen Homecare Technology, ZOTAC, and XOLO.
