Repairs are backed by a six-month warranty.

Passware enhances features allowing prompt Mac FileVault2 recovery

Password recovery and security services company, Passware, has released an enhancement to Passware Kit Forensic for Mac that allows FileVault2 password recovery to occur at faster speeds. Passware Kit Forensic can recover passwords for over 200 file types, and can decrypt hard disks. Improved in response to increased demand on Mac forensics, Passware is offering strong recovery of the FileVault2 password that works with the disk's images, regardless of whether the computer is still running or not.

Passware's previous solution relied on memory analysis for extraction of FileVault2 encryption key. While the decryption process could be completed in a few minutes, the function was unavailable to computer forensics due to the target Mac typically being shut down. The full version of Passware Kit Forensic 13.1 is priced at $995, and is available for download online.
