Camera+ for iOS adds new editing tools, redesigned interface

updated 11:50 am EST, Wed December 18, 2013

Tools organized in The Lab

TapTapTap has released a major update to its Camera+ photography app for the iPhone. Version 5 adds a variety of new editing tools in the new "Lab" menu, including a Clarity Pro utility that provides basic adjustments for vibrancy and intensity. Users can also straighten photos, adjust tint, add soft focus, or tweak the color temperature, among other capabilities.

The new interface is claimed to streamline the shooting experience, splitting the exposure compensation and exposure lock controls for easier access. Users can also take advantage of wallpaper tools to produce iOS 7-style backgrounds, aided by the existing blur and saturation utilities.

Camera+ 5 is immediately available from the App Store for $2, or as a free update for existing users. The company promises an equivalent update for the iPad edition in the near future.
