President Obama to meet with Eric Schmidt, Tim Cook on tech matters

On the agenda are NSA surveillance, Obamacare, income inequality

President Obama is spending part of December 17 in conference with an assortment of Silicon Valley executives in order to "address national security and the economic impacts of unauthorized intelligence disclosures." On tap to meet at the White House are Apple CEO Tim Cook, Yahoo President and CEO Marissa Mayer, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson, and 11 others.

Also up for discussion are "ways [President Obama's] Administration can partner with the tech sector to further grow the economy, create jobs and address issues around income inequality and social mobility." The meeting is scheduled to take place at 10:45AM ET, and run until 12:15PM.

An unnamed government official also said of the meeting that "tomorrow, President Obama will meet with executives from leading tech companies to discuss progress made in addressing performance and capacity issues with, and how the government can better deliver IT to maximize innovation, efficiency and customer service."

Other executives appearing are Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, Etsy CEO Chad Dickerson, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Chief Legal Officer of Salesforce Burke Norton, Zynga chairman Mark Pincus, Co-CEO of Sherpa Global Shervin Pishevar, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, LinkedIn Vice President Erika Rottenberg, Facebook COO Sherly Sandberg, and Microsoft Executive Vice President Brad Smith.
