Techtool Pro 7 adds RAM test, Mavericks compatibility

updated 04:33 pm EST, Fri December 13, 2013

Existing tests improved

Micromat has introduced an update to its OS X repair utility, Techtool Pro. Version 7 adds a new test for RAM, enabling memory modules to be analyzed for potential problems. Users can also view a serial presence detect (SPD) report with a deeper level of technical data related to system memory.

Aside from the RAM test, the company also claims to have improved the range of existing tests to run more efficiently and repair a broader range of problems. The software provides diagnostic and repair tools for SSDs and disk drives, along with utilities for file optimization, data recovery and network monitoring.

TechTool Pro 7 is now available as a $100 download for new customers, or as a $40 upgrade from previous versions. The company also offers a ten-license business pack for $300. The update has been developed for compatibility with OS X Mavericks, with support for 64-bit operation, though it can be used with all Intel-based Macs running OS X 10.6 or higher.

Don't you mean version 7.0.2? TTP 7 has been out for quite a while.
