Visual enhancements throughout apps
Twitter has released a major update to its OS X client, bringing new features and an overhauled appearance. Version 3.0 is said to take design cues from the companies other apps for mobile devices, adopting a "cleaner and more modern" interface to showcase the additional capabilities.
The update now displays Twitter photo previews directly within the timeline, rather than requiring users to click on the links to view images. Clicking on a tweet also brings up a detailed view that includes photos, favorite and retweet counts, and other tweets in the conversation.
The company has also changed the appearance of profiles, adding a banner header and showing people the user is following and followed by.
Twitter 3.0.0 for OS X is immediately available as a free download from the Mac App Store.
