EliteDisplay complements compact desktops

HP has added several new computers to its business-oriented Elite series, introducing the EliteBook Folio 1040 G1, EliteBook Revolve G2 and an EliteDesk compact desktop. The 14-inch EliteBook 1040 notebook is said to be significantly thinner and lighter than its predecessor, measuring 15.9mm thick and weighing 3.3 pounds, with an aluminum unibody design that is claimed to be ruggedized to protect against drops or other abuse.

The EliteBook 810 Revolve G2 is claimed to offer the same robust construction as the Folio, but with a pivoting display hinge that enables the device to be used as a tablet or a notebook. A magnesium chassis is paired with a Gorilla Glass touchscreen and spill-resistant keyboard, while customers can choose from several different Intel Core i3/i5/i7 ULV processors and other configuration options.

The EliteDesk 800 Desktop Mini is said to represent HP's smallest, most full-featured desktop PC, fitting into a liter-size chassis and powered by Intel's fourth-generation Core processors. The computer can be paired with the new S230tm EliteDisplay touchscreen monitor, which features a 23-inch spread and 1920x1080 resolution.

The Folio is already shipping in the US with prices starting at $1,299, slightly below the Revolve G2 when it arrives later this month. The EliteDesk 800 G1 is expected to ship in April for $669, while the EliteDisplay carries a $359 price tag for January availability.
