Razer developing Made for iPhone game controller, leak suggests

updated 11:18 am EST, Fri December 6, 2013

Unusual design may allow iPhone to tilt up to 45 degrees

Gaming hardware maker Razer is working on a Made for iPhone-certified controller, a leak hints. Images depict a case-style product similar to the Logitech PowerShell, allegedly codenamed the Kazuyo. An unusual aspect though is the Kazuyo's ability to tilt an iPhone or iPod up roughly 45 degrees, potentially giving players a better viewing angle.

iOS 7 includes dedicated support for game controllers, and an increasing number of peripherals are expected to emerge in coming months. Prior to iOS 7, a common complaint about iPhone games was that it was difficult to control them as precisely as console or PC titles, since most of them rely on touch gestures that are not only imprecise but force players to obscure the screen with their thumbs.
