updated 06:54 pm EST, Wed December 4, 2013

6008, 7008, 8008, 9708 now have Smart TV accessibility

Philips today announced that it has brought the Spotify streaming music service to a select range of its televisions in Europe. Additionally, the latest software update to many of its televisions has activated the "Cloud TV" service, allowing viewers to stream hundreds of channels over the Internet to recent model Smart TVs

The Cloud TV service includes both premium and non-premium programming. Users select programming through a Cloud TV app, which sorts programming by genre, popularity, and a generic alphabetical list. The service rolled out in early September to some of Philips' televisions, with the 6008, 7008, 8008, and 9708 series televisions seeing the update today.
