Gigaset reveals 8-, 10-inch Android tablets for early December sale

Android tablets from Gigaset launching initially in Germany

German electronics producer Gigaset is stepping into the world of Android tablets, by launching two new devices. The 10-inch QV1030 and the eight-inch QV830 are aluminum-clad slates running Android 4.2.2, and while the larger version targets the high-end market, the smaller model attempts to tempt those looking for a more generic, mid-range device.



Ubergizmo notes that the QV1030 has a 2560x1600-resolution display and a 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor, a rear eight-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 9000mAh battery. The smaller version opts for a resolution of 1024x768, a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 8GB of storage, and a five-megapixel rear camera. Both have identical 1.2-megapixel webcams, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.

The two tablets will be going on sale in Germany in early December, priced at €199 ($270) and €369 ($502) for the smaller and larger devices, respectively. While they are likely to be made available in other countries, Gigaset is not expected to bring the tablets to the United States.
