Huawei Glory 4 for China claimed to use octa-core processor

updated 06:31 am EST, Tue November 26, 2013

Second smartphone from Huawei with eight-core chip teased this week

More details about another Huawei smartphone with eight-core chip have surfaced, including an image showing part of the device. Teased by Huawei CEO Richard Yu last week as forming part of the Ascend P6S, the same MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor will apparently be appearing in the Huawei Glory 4 sometime in the future.

Specifications from MyDrivers suggest it will not only have the 1.7GHz MediaTek processor, but also 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a front-facing 5-megapixel camera and a rear 13-megapixel counterpart. Despite its processor and general components list, it will apparently have a resolution of just 1280x720, though the display size is unknown, and runs on Android 4.2.2.

It is said that the Glory 4 will only be available in China. An expected launch date is also unknown, but it is likely to come out around the same time as the Ascend P6S.

An earlier device from Huawei shares the Glory name, though it is unclear if it is part of the same family of smartphones. The Huawei Honor was launched in late 2011, with prepaid carrier Cricket expected to not only offer the device on its network, but also to rebrand it to the Glory.
