ChronoSync backup and mirroring tool takes 25 percent off regular price
Well-regarded synchronization, backup and mirroring tool ChronoSync will be going on sale between November 28 and December 2 in what the developer, Econ Technologies, says is its "Thanksgiving-Black Friday-Small Business Saturday-Cyber-Monday" event. The program, which normally sells for $40 but includes free lifetime upgrades, will be discounted by 25 percent to $30 during the sale. Unlike Apple's own Time Machine solution, ChronoSync can be customized to backup only selected items, create bootable backups, and works across platforms, external drives, network drives and even iOS devices. A demo and the full program are available directly from the developer.
Rovio updates Angry Birds with 30 new levels, electric bomb, new potions
The perennial best-selling game Angry Birds ($2 for iPhone, $3 for iPad) has been updated again, this time with 30 new levels -- bringing the total number of levels in the iOS app to 495. In addition to the new levels, the Bomb bird has been modified to add "shock wave power," creating a powerful circle of electricity on top of the blast itself. Also added are three new potions, which players can use to change the look of the piggy adversaries. The company is also planning a "very special" Black Friday shopping day at the Toys R Us Time Square store in New York City on November 29.
