iMovie 10: what the h3ll, Apple??

Yesterday, in the MacNN forums, one very frustrated Mac Elite lashed out at Apple's changes to iMovie, claiming that Apple "ruined it for no reason" and in a rage demanded to know "what is Apple smoking?" Others disagreed with his assessment. Also yesterday, "tadd" was concerned that their iPhone may have been infected with malware or some kind of keylogger after noticing strange behavior, another member chimed in that it is likely just the NSA conducting surveillance.

Grizzled Veteran "jeff k" was curious as to why certain folders in finder didn't have triangles next to them indicating they could be opened, and turned to the forums looking for answers. Fresh-Faced Recruit "Rod ski" came to the forums for the first time to ask what would be a better purchase, a refurbished 32GB iPad mini or the new 16GB Retina iPad mini. Moderator Emeritus "icruise" has decided to buy a new Retina iPad mini for Christmas, and is wondering if there will be any good discounts before the holiday.

    Regarding imovie 10, couldn't agree more regarding the wtf apple. For no obvious reason apple changed something with it's movie format. My camera movies can't be played any more since I updated to Mavericks. The "it just works" doesn't apply any more to apple. Imovie can play my camera clips, but without sound. And before some smart guy tries to teach me about why Apple changed the format or anything inside it, let me say that yesterday it worked, today it doesn't and as I see, I'm not the only one. Equally, I tried yesterday to share/compiel my movie to a file. Imove stopped the process three times with a -50 Error. I will never understand why they have to change something without informing their customers. My wife, my children just want to see the clips we made before. They have no idea what happened with Mavericks nor do they know how to repair it. Welcome to Windows and MS behavior.
