Prototype said to be known as M8
Leaked images of HTC's next flagship smartphone have reportedly surfaced ahead of a formal introduction. A post on Taiwanese site ePrice and later spotted by Unwired View claims to show the hack housing for a phone that is said to be the successor to the HTC One, but internally referenced by the monicker M8. One notable difference is an additional circular cutout above the camera placement, potentially pointing to the placement for a fingerprint sensor.
Although the leak merely shows the aluminum housing, the device is rumored to be outfitted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and HTC's Sense 6 interface overlay. Display size is expected to jump to 5.0-5.2 inches, likely with 1920x1080 resolution.
Additional details remain unclear, though the current HTC One was unveiled in February ahead of the Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona.
