Kazam Trooper, Thunder smartphones have similar specification lists

British-based phone manufacturer Kazam, created six months ago by two former HTC executives, has launched its first ranges of Android devices. A total of six smartphones have been shown off, with one in the Thunder range and five Trooper devices, with phones ranging not only in size but also in internal specification.

The mid-range Kazam Thunder Q4.5 houses a 4.5-inch 854x480 IPS display, with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of expandable storage. Powered by a 1,800mAh battery, it features a rear 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and a front-facing 2-megapixel version. The second device in this range, the Thunder Q5.0, has yet to be revealed.

The Trooper X3.5, X4.0, X4.5, X5.0, and X5.5 each have displays ranging between a 3.5-inch 320x480 screen and a 5.5-inch 480x854 model. The budget-ranged devices use either a 1.0GHz or 1.2GHz dual-core processor, with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage that can be expanded by MicroSD. The rear camera goes from a 3.2-megapixel version with autofocus up to 5 megapixels, with all having similar front-facing cameras, with battery capacity scaling with the screen size, starting from 1,300mAh in the smallest and going to 2,500mAh in the largest model.

All of the smartphones connect over quad-band 3G and have dual SIM card slots, include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and run on Android 4.2. Kazam also offers a remote access support feature called "Kazam Rescue," for helping with any setup issues, and screen replacement cover for 12 months.

Pricing and availability has yet to be announced for the Thunder and Trooper ranges, but considering the specifications, they are likely to be relatively cheap to acquire, and will probably be shipping in the UK and Europe at first.
