Viper releases all-in-one security app for home and car monitoring
Viper, an electronics manufacturer, has released its latest security app, ViperConnect. The app allows users to monitor their Viper security devices for both home and car. Viper Home, available from Best Buy for $230, can connect to the app upon installation, which also links to one's Viper SmartStart car security app to create a simplified security system. The app can monitor video (with a $10 monthly subscription) and send notifications of movement or alarm disarming inside the home.
The app can locate where a user's parked car is located when using Viper's car security system. Additionally, users can review the security history, instigate a panic alarm for the home, or arm the home remotely. ViperConnect can be downloaded on iTunes for free, and requires iOS 6.0 or later. An Android-compatible version of Viper Connect is available on Google Play.
