Motorola prepares Moto G smartphone for November 13th launch

Budget Motorola smartphone to see international release

Motorola will be hosting an event on November 13th for the launch of the Moto G smartphone. The Google-owned device manufacturer will be showing off the successor to the Moto X during a live event later this month, with the device name having previously been confirmed courtesy of a mistake on the Motorola website and a trademark filing.

The launch, spotted by Engadget, could see the device launching farther afield than the Moto X, with the company's Twitter feed showing greetings in a number of different languages. Motorola confirmed in August that European customers and people in developing markets would have to wait for a new device to arrive, instead of the Moto X.

According to an updated version of the marketing card leaked last week, the Moto G will have a quad-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.2GHz, reports GSM Arena. Sporting a 4.5-inch 720p display, it will run Android 4.3, have 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, HSPA+, a rear 5-megapixel camera with 1.3-megapixel front version, and a claimed price tag of £135 ($216) off-contract.
