Transporter Sync generates, controls access to private cloud storage

updated 11:07 pm EDT, Wed October 30, 2013

Inexpensive device plugs into standard USB devices to make cloud storage

Transporter today announced a new way to save, sync and share everything important including photos, music, movies and documents. For a single payment for the device and no additional monthly fees, the Transporter Sync stores all data in a private cloud, allowing users to instantly sync across smart phones, tablets, PCs and access and shared photos, and other documents from anywhere at any time.

Transporter Sync works with any standard USB external hard drive and allows users to access data from all their devices without moving it to the public cloud. Local control of the hardware associated with the data storage ensures that everything on Transporter Sync is protected and private. The system gives users full control over who has access to family photos and personal videos. It can be used as a stand-alone device, or with other Transporters on one LAN or across multiple connections to form a larger private network.

A full copy of user files is kept on a single Transporter, and changes can be automatically synced in real-time between devices. Add a Transporter in another location and a second copy of stored files are kept safe offsite to protect against fire, flood or theft. Connect with other Transporter users and everyone with access gets fast, local copies of files.

The Transporter Sync will be available "in time for the upcoming holiday season" for $99.
