Second round of 24 countries starts October 25, more November 1
Apple's worldwide rollout of the new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c continues. With the initial rollout complete and stock levels rising, Apple has shut down the online stores in 24 countries in preparation for commencing sales on the popular devices on October 25. A third round of 16 countries will see the phone release on November 1.
Starting tomorrow, the new iPhone 5 models will be available in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, French West Indies, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Island, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and Thailand. Prices vary by country, and most of the second round of release countries do not have carrier subsidies.
On November 1, the phone will be available in Albania, Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, India, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
