Remote monitoring system now live in Apple Online Store
Dropcam Pro, the cloud-enabled Wi-Fi video monitoring camera is now available in Apple's Retail and Online Stores for the first time. Launched on October 10, the Dropcam Pro camera is Dropcam's latest product, with improved internals allowing for better video and audio quality. Prior to the Pro's launch on Apple outlets, Dropcam products had only been available through Amazon.
Dropcam buyers will get a Wi-Fi video monitoring service that is accessible through the cloud. The Dropcam Pro interacts with Dropcam's free iOS app to let users monitor their homes, rooms, and businesses while away. The system also has a function built in that can alert a user via iOS device or Mac when there is significant action occurring in a watched room.
The Dropcam Pro is available in Apple Stores and in Apple's Online Store for $200. The device is currently available to ship within 24 hours, and in-store pickup is subject to supply at certain locations.
Facebook Home gets Pinterest, Flickr, Tumblr, Instagram integration
Facebook's Android app Home has seen an update that adds integration with Pinterest, Flickr, Tumblr, and Instagram. Content from those sites can now show upon users' lock screens in addition to other content from a user's Facebook feed.
The update is available for download for free from the Google Play Store. It requires, though, that users update both their standard Facebook app and the actual Facebook Home app in order to unlock the new functionality.
