First Nikon Pure Photography video gives little away about mystery camera

Nikon is planning to announce a new camera, one which is believed to be a retro-styled DSLR in a similar vein to other recent releases. The first teaser video for a campaign titled "Pure Photography" and accompanying images is believed to be a full-frame camera called the D4H, one which could possibly ship with a hybrid electronic and optical viewfinder.

Sources of Nikon Rumors claim that the D4H will have a rear 3-inch LCD screen, a true mirror lock-up that still allows for the use of a viewfinder, a hybrid mechanical shutter, no AA filter, and use the Expeed 3A processor. It is suggested that it could sell for around $3,000 for the body alone, or $3,300 when combined with a 50mm f/1.8G lens, and will come in a choice of black, black and silver, and chrome options.

Five more shorts will apparently be released by the company ahead of the camera's launch. Since the first video gives a brief glimpse of the front of a lens as well as the hot shoe of the camera, the other videos in the series could end up gradually showing more of the camera. A launch date is unknown, but thought to be sometime before the Winter Olympic Games takes place in February.
