Lumia tablet packs Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB expandable storage

Nokia has launched its rumored "Sirius" tablet during its Nokia World event. The Nokia Lumia 2520 is a Windows RT slate that packs a 10.1-inch 1080p AH-IPS display, which is claimed to be bright enough to read outdoors and is protected by Gorilla Glass 2, as well as retaining most of the design language of the Lumia range despite the increase in size.

Inside is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 running at 2.2GHz with 2GB of RAM, with the 32GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD by up to 32GB. On the back is a 6.7-megapixel camera with autofocus and Zeiss optics with a front-facing 2-megapixel counterpart, while connectivity extends to micro HDMI, USB 3.0. Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, and LTE. An 8,000mAh battery powers the tablet, which is also capable of charging to 80 percent within an hour, while stereo speakers at the front provide sound.

Much like other Windows tablets, the Lumia 2520 has an optional keyboard cover. The Nokia Power Keyboard adds a pair of USB ports and five extra hours of battery life, props the tablet up, and adds an extra gesture trackpad.

Shipping in a choice of red, cyan, white, and black, the Lumia 2520 will go on sale in the US, UK, and Finland at a cost of $499 before the end of this year. The Nokia Power Keyboard will ship at the same time, priced at $149.
