iOS 7's Control Center feature brought to Mac OS X by Controls+ app

Controls+, an app for OS X, is available at an introductory sale price since its launch at the beginning of the month. Priced at 80 percent off until Friday, Controls+ offers the features of iOS 7's Control Center, which includes quick access to commonly used utilities via a menubar icon. Controls+ presently includes brightness controls, a flashlight mode (white screen), screen saver locking, iTunes controls, and a timer. Its user interface emulates the visual aesthetic of iOS 7, with a compact drop-down menu for accessing all features. Currently available for download for $1, Controls+ can be purchased on iTunes.

X-Mirage app mirrors media content from iOS devices to Mac OS X

X-Mirage announced today the release of its software of the same name. X-Mirage is an AirPlay receiver that allows users to stream videos, music and photos to any Mac. Additionally, the app can record the iOS device's screen content on the Mac. Effective for presentations, X-Mirage allows users to wirelessly mirror the screen of iOS devices to a Mac and then to a projector, smartboard or HDTV. Dual-screen gaming play can be facilitated with the app's ability to support multiple iOS device connections, and mirror iOS games to one Mac to play against others. Compatible with OS X 10.6 or later, and either iPhone 4S or later, iPad 2 or later, iPad mini, or iPod touch 5 or later, X-Mirage is available as a free trial download and can be purchased as a full version for $16.
