Late October release for four new models from Sony
Today, Sony Electronics announced US pricing and availability for the Vaio Flip and Tap PCs it announced earlier this year. Both the Vaio Flip in 13-inch, 14-inch, and 15.5-inch models and the 11-inch Tap tablet PC will be available before the end of October.
The Vaio Flip is a 1920x1080 IPS display computer, with 10-point multitouch. The 14-inch model has a Pentium 3556U processor, with Core i3, i5, or i7 options on the rest of the line. Graphics are driven by the Intel HD 4000 chipset, with the Nvidia GeForce GT 735M on the 15-inch model. The 13-inch model has a SSD standard, while a variety of hard drive options available on the 14- and 15.5-inch model.
The Vaio Tap 11 offers a Full HD IPS Triluminos touchscreen, and houses an Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processor with between 128GB and 512GB of SSD storage. Able to stand up thanks to its kickstand, its magnetic keyboard cover charges when connected, but can also be used wirelessly. Alongside its stylus input option, it uses an 8-megapixel rear camera with an Exmor RS for PC sensor, and can connect over Wi-Fi and NFC.
Both Vaio Flip and Tap 11 PCs will be exclusively sold through Sony and Best Buy. The Vaio Flip will sell starting at $1,099 for the 13.3-inch model, $749 for the 14-inch model, and $799 for the 15.5-inch unit. The Vaio Tap 11 will sell for $799.
