Several US retailers now offering discounts
Target is joining the list of US retailers cutting the price of the iPhone 5c. Beginning October 13, the phone will slide from $80 to $50 at the company's stores. People with a REDcard will be eligible for an extra five percent discount.
Several US retailers have slashed the price of the 5c to just between $45 and $50, including Best Buy, RadioShack, and Walmart. The phone officially retails for $99. It is, however, thought by many to be selling in smaller quantities than the flagship iPhone 5s, and is in ample stock in many places, perhaps excessively. The discounts may help spur sales, and thin out inventories so that retailers aren't left with surplus after the holiday season.
