Handset competes with Galaxy Note 3

LG has introduced the G Pro Lite, a large smartphone that appears to serve as a midrange competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Note 3. The new Android handset features a 5.5-inch display with 960x540 resolution, paired with a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.

The G Pro Lite can be used with an included stylus for handwritten notes or drawing, similar to the S Pen features of the Note 3, though the G Pro Lite display falls well short of its competitor's 1920x1080 resolution.

LG attempts to differentiate the device by adding dual-SIM support, with a dedicated hot-key to switch between SIMs. The phone also integrates an 8.0-megapixel BSI primary camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, along with a 3140mAh battery.

The G Pro Lite will launch later this month in Latin American markets, followed by select markets in Asia, Russia, China, India and the Middle East.
