Pantech Vega Secret Note adds fingerprint sensor, hides data

Fingerprints used on Pantech smartphone to hide music, photos, contacts

Pantech is adding to its Vega smartphone range with another device, one which introduces some extra privacy features. The Vega Secret Note, complete with a 5.9-inch 1080p display, sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which can be used to not only unlock the device, but to also reveal hidden notes, photos, and videos stored on the device from view.

Running on a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, the Vega Secret Note is reported by Android Community to use an accompanying stylus called the V Pen for note taking and drawing. On the back is a 13-megapixel camera with a 2-megapixel front-facing counterpart, while its 32GB of storage can be supplemented by external storage thanks to its USB host mode. Support for LTE-A, DMB television viewing, and a 3,200mAh battery are also included on the Android 4.2.2 device.

Pantech has yet to reveal when it will go on sale in South Korea, but that it will cost 900,000 won ($840). A release in other regions is unlikely.
