Verizon-branded HTC One Max spotted in new pics

updated 08:19 pm EDT, Sat October 5, 2013

Super-sized HTC One on its way to Verizon

A model of the HTC One Max has shown up in images online sporting Verizon carrier branding. An Android Central forum poster shared the images on Saturday, and they appear to confirm the super-sized One Max, as well as its Verizon destination. HTC has yet to even confirm the One Max, but Saturday's is just the latest in a string of leaks regarding the device.

Aside from apparently confirming the existence of the device and its Verizon branding, the posting also says that the One Max will sport a fingerprint scanner, though such a feature does not appear visible in the pictures. It also says that the back of the device will be removable.

The HTC One Max has been rumored to exist since at least July of this year, and images of the device have continued to leak to the Internet as its release years. The latest speculation has the device launching on October 15.

The One Max will be the latest effort by HTC to claw back market share from Samsung, which dominates the Android handset segment. The device will join the HTC One and the HTC One Mini in continuing the company's recent trend of high build quality devices. So far, those new devices have have not panned out for HTC financially, as the firm posted a $101 million net loss in the most recent quarter.
