Apple seeds iOS 7.0.3 to workers, partners for testing

updated 12:13 pm EDT, Tue October 1, 2013

Update could arrive as soon as next week

Fresh off the release of iOS 7.0.2, Apple is already seeding a final test of iOS 7.0.3 internally and to various partners, sources claim. It's uncertain what the update is intended to fix or add. It's believed, however, that the firmware could go live as soon as next week.

One possibility is that like v7.0.2, the 7.0.3 update will address recently-discovered lockscreen bypasses. It may mark the third patch for iOS 7 in less than a month. On the day the iPhone 5s and 5c were released, September 20th, owners were immediately prompted to download a special v7.0.1 update fixing issues with the 5s' Touch ID sensor.

Please, please, please let it fix Safari HTML5 at the very least, and bring a better UI to Calendar. Thus far, iOS7 goes down as the worst major OS upgrade in Apple history after OS X 10.0 (another incomplete bit of a mess... not really usable in mainstream until 10.2).

And it's not really fair to include OS X as a major upgrade, as it was an entirely new OS. So, iOS 7 really should get worst major OS upgrade from Apple, ever. Granted, much applies to the half-finished (I'd probably rather use a different half-something adjective, but that'll do) feel of the UI, but there are technical issues too... the most disconcerting being the destruction of mobile Safari's beautiful HTML5 handling. I'm used to being proud of my Apple products... not so much with iOS 7.
