Velocity Micro adds Haswell to two NoteMagix laptop lines

Mobile workstation-class devices intended for power users, gamers

Enthusiast computer manufacturer Velocity Micro has announced the immediate availability of two new notebooks targeted toward enthusiasts, gamers and content creators -- the 17.3-inch NoteMagix M17 and the 15.6-inch NoteMagix M15 LE. The new models add the Intel fourth-generation "Haswell" processor and attendant graphic chipset to Velocity Micro's line.

The NoteMagix M17 is intended as a mobile powerhouse, designed for on-the-go gaming, digital content creation, and other enthusiast-grade activities. Key specs and features of the model include a 17.3-inch 1920x1080 LED screen, quad-core Intel fourth-generation processors configurable up to the i7-4930MX Extreme Edition, the 3GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M, solid state drive storage options, a full-size illuminated keyboard with numeric pad and W/A/S/D gaming keys, and an optical drive bay with Blu-ray options.

The NoteMagix M15 LE is geared toward mainstream users in need of a little extra power. The model boasts a 15.6-inch 1920x1080 LED screen, quad-core fourth-generation processors, and SSD options. The unit is 14mm thick at its thinnest point, weighing in at just over five pounds, and features a brushed aluminum finish and an optical bay with Blu-ray options.

Both the M15 LE and M17 are available now. Configurations start at $1,149 and $1,899 respectively.
